The AFM and the police on Sunday morning are due to resume a search for a freediver missing off Qawra.
The man was reported missing at about 8pm on Saturday off Fra Ben and units from the police and the AFM made an initial search in fast-gathering darkness, without success.
It is the third such search for missing divers in a few weeks.
A 28-year-old from Rabat was found dead off Xemxija on Wednesday
Another diver was found dead after being reported missing off White Rocks on September 4.
