Police are investigating the discovery of two corpses found off Gudja early on Saturday morning.
Witnesses spotted police officers seen in an area between Santa Lucija and Gudja following what appears to be a tip-off.
Information was still scant but police are trying to identify the corpses, which sources said could be the two women who had been reported missing last Thursday.
The duty officer would only say that police were on sight.
