The police this evening denied ever speaking to a man who today is considered to be linked with the finding of the remains of a woman in the limits of Valletta last Saturday.

Times of Malta are reporting that the suspect had already been questioned by the police when the woman, believed to be Charlene Farrugia, went missing in November 2008.

But the police said that the man had never been on the police radar and was never questioned when the woman went missing 11 years ago,

The name of the suspect is new to the investigation, the police said.

The woman’s remains were found after the police arrested a man in connection with a hold-up on a shop in Gzira. The man was later arraigned in connection with the hold-up.
