Five people were injured in an explosion that took place in Zejtun earlier today.
The accident took place at around 6.30pm in a carpark in Vjal il-25 ta’ Novembru.
Two Belgian women and a Belgian man, as well as a 32-year-old Maltese woman and a young child were injured. They were taken to Mater Dei Hospital and their medical condition is not yet known, the police said.
The police are at this stage also unable to confirm reports that the explosion was caused by a petard.
