While graffiti is often looked at as a nuisance, and as an indicator of the lack of cleanliness of an area, some graffiti artists have created masterpieces on the sides of buildings and walls in various areas around Malta, and created murals that are a pleasant change of scenery for motorists.
From famous characters like Gandalf and Gollum from Lord of the rings, to murals showing man’s best friend, what some consider graffiti can be masterpieces to others, bringing some colour to an otherwise drab section of an urban area.
Some such artistic works also bring to life dilapidated buildings and can help make such eyesores just that little bit more interesting to look at.
While obviously such artists should have, that is if they hadn’t done so, gotten permission from the property owners before creating their artwork, it might not be a bad idea to give such artists some space to exhibit their craft.
