A 59-yar-old motorcyclist from Xagħra suffered serious injuries this afternoon on Mgarr Road, Ghajnsielem at around 3.45pm when his Triumph Tiger Explorer XC crashed with a Hyundai i20 being driven by a 44-year-old Ukrainian residing in St Julian’s and a Toyota Vitz being driven by a 46-year-old woman from Gharb.

As a result, the motorcycle and the two cars all crashed into two cars parked on the road, a Nissan Micra and a Toyota Prius.

Civil Protection Department personnel were called to the scene, and the motorcyclist was taken to Gozo General Hospital for treatment, where he was later certified as having suffered serious injuries.

The woman from Gharb was also hospitalised and treated for shock.

Duty Magistrate Dr. B. Sultana is conducting an inquiry and has appointed experts, while police investigations are underway.
