A man was taken to hospital after he found himself in difficulty while swimming in a bay near Dawret il-Gzejjer, St Paul’s Bay, today, at around 6.15pm.
The 19-year-old man from Romania residing in Qawra was brought ashore and given first aid by people who were in the area.
An ambulance was called on site to take the teenager to Mater Dei Hospital.
A Magisterial Inquiry has been appointed into the case.
