The Malta Developers Association has “strongly condemned” any illegally dumping of construction waste in public open areas in the countryside or any other sites where this waste is not permitted to be dumped.

The MDA also noted that legitimate concerns about the adverse effect of this dumping on countryside views, made in the written and social media, have recently increased.

“Despite realising the current difficulties related to the dumping of construction waste, the MDA does not condone such illegal dumping and takes a very serious view against this practice.”

It appealed to the government and the authorities to take “severe action against the perpetrators of this illegal dumping, who should face drastic consequences for their criminal actions, including the suspension of the licences of the vehicles used for this dumping.”

The MDA said it will also be co-operating with the authorities in “their quest to find the perpetrators of this malpractice”.
