The Nationalist Party’s treasurer Antoine Zammit resigned from the party on Sunday, mere hours after a YouTube video emerged showing him giving a tutorial on how to bypass safeguards to watch adult films on an IPTV box.

In a short statement issued on Sunday night, the PN said that ‘in the context of the events of the past hours’ it had accepted Zammit’s resignation.

Zammit, who runs a computer repair shop, was appointed party treasurer by the PN’s executive committee on August 1, succeeding David Camilleri who resigned two months prior after he found himself in the crossfire of an internal power struggle.

Zammit was also a candidate for the PN in Zabbar in the last local council elections. He received 341 first count votes – the third most for the party in the Labour stronghold – but was ultimately not elected to the council.
