Parliament will not take place on Wednesday due to the date falling on the second anniversary of the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia, with both sides of the house in agreement.

The opposition had issued a statement indicating that it was going to make the request to the Speaker of the House prior to Tuesday’s session. Opposition Leader Adrian Delia had said that this would be done as a sign of respect.

PL Whip Byron Camilleri in Parliament also made the same request during the actual sitting..

As a result, both sides agreed that no Parliamentary session or committee sessions will be held on Wednesday, and that a plenary session will be convened on Thursday to make up for the lost day.
