Members of the European Parliament are not travel agents, an irate Alfred Sant wrote on Facebook today.
“When I meet Maltese and Gozitans in the streets, clubs and shops, I expect them to ask me about my work in Brussels, what controversies I am raising, what projects I am pushing,” he wrote this morning.
“Instead, the question I have to answer the most us – when are you going to take us on a trip to Brussels?!!!”
“MEPs seem to be considered simply as a travel agency,” Sant said.
MEPs are allotted funds which they can use to allow the constituents to learn more about the functions and duties of the European Parliament.
