A 26-year-old motorbike rider from Pieta was grievously injured in a hit-and-run yesterday evening at 9pm, the police said on Sunday morning.
The incident took place on Triq Enrico Mizzi, Ta’Xbiex.
The driver of the car involved in the accident kept on going.
In a statement issued on Sundat evening, the police said that they had identified the car involved – an Isuzu – and its driver, a 43-year-old man of Msida, is being questioned.
The biker was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and investigations are ongoing.
