Hamrun tragedy: Two released on bail rearrested by police

Two of the four persons who were released on bail by the police on Wednesday were rearrested on Thursday to continue being questioned by the police in connection with the collapse of a building that killed a woman in Hamrun on Monday.

In another development, the two persons who were in custody since Monday were released, the police said.

So, at present, the police is holding two persons while another four are on police bail.

The six arrested persons are an architect, the site technical officer, two workers and two contractors. The police did not say who of them is still under arrest and the four released on police bail.

On Monday, Miriam Pace, 55, was killed when the residence she lived in collapsed in Hamrun. The residence was situated next to a plot where excavation was taking place.
