A 19-year-old Maltese woman who recently travelled to Brussels has tested positive for Coronavirus, the government said late on Friday.
She is the 13th person to test positive for Covid-19 in Malta.
The woman travelled to Brussels on 4 March and returned on 8 March. Symptoms developed on 11 March. The woman is in good condition, the authorities said.
Earlier today it was announced that the first person who was infected with Coronavirus has been cured.
The woman had tested positive on Saturday. Two tests carried out in the space of 24 hours came back negative. According to established guidelines, this means that she is cured.
The woman has been discharged from hospital but is being kept in quarantine in her own home for another few days, as a precaution.
The government again appealed to the public to follow instructions, including on mandatory quarantine where applicable. Mass activities and travel should be avoided, and the elderly should avoid going outside.
