A dead person has been found in an apartment in Santa Lucija, the police said.
The body was found in black plastic bags discovered in the bathroom of the apartment in Durell Square at 4pm after neighbours alerted the police about a bad smell at around 2 pm, the spokesman said.
This indicates that the person has been dead for a number of days. The police were informed that the person had not been seen for quite a while.
The police are treating the incident as a homicide.
The identity of the person is still unknown.
Forensic police are also on site. The body was taken away in the police hearse and an autopsy will take place to establish the cause of death. A Magisterial inquiry has also been called.
