L-Istrina, Malta’s largest annual telethon for charity, is set to start at noon today.
The Boxing-Day telethon which lasts around 12 hours, raises money for the Malta Community Chest Fund.
The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation supports individuals and entities to improve the health, quality of life and well being of people in their time of need.
Last year, just over €5 million was donated to the annual telethon.
This year, the telethon will be in its 28th edition, and it will be President George Vella’s last one, as his term ends next year.
