Six people have been injured when a car ploughed into buyers at the Zabbar open market on Saturday morning.
The six were taken to hospital for treatment.
Details are sketchy at the moment following the accident, which took place at around 9.15am in St James’ Square.
Home Minister Byron Camilleri said that the car was being driven by a 70-year-old Maltese man.
TVM reports that the driver of the car accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, with the result that some people were hit.
Some of the monti stalls also collapsed with the impact.
