Two Albanian men were arrested by the police in connection with a string of thefts that occurred from private residences, the police said Saturday.
The two men, aged 33 and 46, allegedly form part of an international organised crime group, and had left Malta after the thefts occurred.
The police followed their footsteps and when the two men returned to Malta on a flight that arrived Friday, the two men were arrested upon their arrival.
The two men are set to be charged in court.
