
A man who had been reported missing by his relatives was found dead in Pieta’ on Monday afternoon, the police said.
Police officers from the Valletta station mounted a search for a 75-year-old man that was reported missing earlier during the day.
He was found lying on the ground near a garden in Triq l-Indipendenza at around 7.15pm. The man was pronounced dead on site.
The police said the man likely fell from a height of three storeys and ended up below a bastion.
Members of the Civil Protection Department were called to assist.
Magistrate Astrid May Grima is leading an inquiry. The police are also investigating.
