The Nationalist Party leader will be nominated the parents of Jean Paul Sofia to be awarded the Gieh ir-Repubblika, a PN statement said.
The development comes after a meeting John Sofia and Isabelle Bonnici had with Bernard Grech on Friday.
Grech said that Sofia’s parents are a symbol of national unity, and the search for justice and truth.
Jean Paul Sofia, 20, died when a building under construction collapsed in Kordin last December.
Sofia and Bonnici “humbly” accepted Grech’s proposal, the PN said, adding that an official request will be made in the coming days.
