Malta and Poland are working on a new double taxation agreement to replace the one that has been in force since 1994, Foreign Minister Carmelo Abela said on Thursday after talks with Police Foreign minister Jacek Czaputowicz in Valletta.
“The new agreement will be beneficial to businesses in both countries and help enhance bilateral commercial ties,” the minister said.
The two ministers looked forward to improved bilateral relations through the intensification of contacts on a number of levels.
Mr Abela observed that the number of Poles visiting Malta will reach 100,000 by the end of 2018. He said there was potential for increased exchanges in trade and investment, the ICT sector, construction, the finance and banking sector, as well as energy.
“This was a great opportunity to discuss our longstanding bilateral relations and we look forward to hosting a state visit by the Polish President early next year”, Mr Abela said.
