Actress Pia Zammit has sued the editor of it-Torca, the General Workers’ union newspaper, over a report it had published last Sunday.

The article was titled ‘”M’ghandux ikun hemm cajt bis-swastika”‘ (you shouldn’t joke with swastikas) which was accompanied by a photo from a stage performance of the comedy ‘Allo ‘Allo over 10 years ago, a photo in which she was holding two swastikas.

‘Allo ‘Allo is a famous comedy set in WW2 Nazi occupied France and was a famous comedy series on the BBC. The article included comments by an anonymous educator, who claimed the image was offensive to some people.

In her court request, she states that the article was defamatory, and that it was published with malicious intent just to damage her reputation, intimidate and incite hatred against her . She asked the court to condemn the editor to pay damages.
