Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has described Opposition Leader Adrian Delia’s reaction to the 2020 budget as ‘all negative’.

Reacting outside Parliament, minutes after Delia concluded, Muscat said that the PN Leader ignored what the budget had presented.

Muscat pointed out that certain comments of Delia were ‘xenophobic’ and ‘populist’ as he tried portray the situation bigger than it actually is. “It was disappointing to see that the leader of the opposition did not mention the big increase in pensions, or find the time to mention that the government has increased workers leave days, or the biggest environment measure which we proposed… our plastic ban,” said Muscat.

He commented that in the two hours which the opposition was meant to provide reactions to the Budget, Delia did not discuss anything regarding the budget.
