Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana has ordered emergency works to repair two roads in Nadur that seem to be in danger of collapsing.

Photos doing the rounds on social media indicate that part of Kenuna Road, which overlooks the valley, is showing similar cracks as the ones which were posted in September with regard to Ghajn Qasab Street.

That road was repaired after the danger was flagged by this newsroom.

On Tuesday, part of another road in Nadur collapsed as Gozo was hit by bad weather.

Triq il-Madonna ta’ Fatima partially gave in after a wall collapsed under heavy flooding.

Nadur’s mayor Edward Said posted photos on Facebook, saying that the Gozo Ministry had undertaken the task to rebuild this road.

Reacting, Caruana said the Ministry for Gozo is tackling both roads as well as other works all around Gozo. “These are emergency works and therefore need to be carried out through an expedite procedure as allowed by procurement regulations,” she said.
