An ‘abomination,’ was the phrase former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat used in a post following the news that charges have been filed in relation to the Vitals inquiry.

On Monday news broke that criminal charges have been filed in court against a number of people named in the hospitals inquiry, according to Repubblika’s Robert Aquilina and their lawyer Jason Azzopardi. Joseph Muscat was named as one of them.

Posting in reaction on Facebook, Muscat said: “A number of lawyers have told me that for the first time in as long as they could remember, people will be accused in court without being given their basic right of being heard.”

“This is no longer just a political vendetta, but has transformed itself into a disgrace and abomination where the lives of tens of people are being thrown into a bureaucratic landfill for years for the convenience of some.”

“All those who tainted themselves with this injustice, or washed their hands from trying to correct it, will be judged in the harshest way by the people immediately, by justice over the years and by history forever. I am ready for the fight against those who want to take revenge on the Maltese.”
